He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Dement, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Dement; his son Luther David Dement; and his siblings, James Dement, Henry Dement, Raymond Dement, Jewel Dement and Roberta Stutts.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Dement of Purvis; his daughters, Katona Ellis of Beaumont and Letrease Moore (Russell) of Purvis; and his grandchildren, Ricky Ellis (Faith), Abby Ellis, Candace Stuart (Dustin), Rusty Moore (Ashlie) and Dale Moore. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
