He is survived by: his children, Evelyn Sue Stuart (Billy) of Purvis, Jack Doyle Madden (Tina) of Purvis and Eric Walter Madden of Soso; his grandchildren, Ericka Madden, Nathan Stuart, Chelsea Stuart, Anthony Stuart, Shane Thames, Shelby Thames and Diana Thames; and his siblings, James Madden of Purvis, John Edward Madden of Purvis, Rosie Yawn of Sumrall, Marie Lavanaway of Purvis, Mary Jane Runnells of Purvis, Martha Skeen of Purvis, Sue Scruggs of Purvis and Nita Anderson of Purvis.
