It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Gates of Puckett, Mississippi, who passed away on September 12, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Joyce Schofield Gates; his parents, John Eddie Gates and Willie Mae Lewis Gates; and his siblings, J. E. Gates, Charles Ray Gates, Ruby Jones and Jean Gates.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lynn Crowe (Howard) and Shannon Lyle (Dan); his grandchildren, Aaron Crowe, Jessica Stafford (Michael), Cal Crowe, Reese Lyle and Gates Lyle; his brother Bill Gates; and his great grandchildren, Braxtyn Jones, Zoey Stafford, Caroline Crowe and Matthew Stafford.
