He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Smith Merrell of New Hebron; his daughter Maggie Lynn Merrell (Jacob Lowe) of New Hebron; his siblings, Paula McCaleb (Monty) of Flowood, Kimberly Polk of New Hebron and John Gilbert Merrell, Jr. of Charleston, SC; his mother-in-law Mary Smith Ramsey (Hubert) of Hazelhurst; and his brother-in-law Lawrence Smith of New Hebron. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
