He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Agnes As and Jabus Rawls Burkett Sr. As; his wife Glenda Baker of Houma; his brother Jabus Rawls Burkett Jr.; his sons, Jerry Benton Burkett Jr. and James Bradly Burkett (Victoria Lynn Burkett); and his grandchildren, Samantha Burkett, Abigail Lora Burkett and Garrett Anthony Shepherd. He was also cherished by cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Bethany Baptist Church General Fund at PO Box 1316, Prentiss, MS 39474.
