Edward H. Horning Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. Edward Horning will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, June 3, 2022, at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Whitesand Cemetery. The Reverend Ted Bowlin will officiate. Mr. Horning, age 82, passed away early Monday morning, May 30, 2022, at Diversicare Healthcare in Quitman, MS.

Edward Henry Horning was born on November 22, 1938, in New Orleans, LA to Clarence Wesley and Zoila Biaestas Horning. Ed worked offshore as a Crane Operator for over 30 years with Exxon Petroleum Corporation. Afterwards, he worked for nearly 20 years for the Double Pond Water Association. Ed enjoyed hunting and fishing and liked to listen to Country Music. He attended Bethany Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Linda Horning; his brothers, Robert Horning and Johnny Horning and a sister, Carmen Fowler.

His memory will forever be cherished by his wife of 31 years, Betty Stringer Horning of Prentiss; 2 step-sons, James Edward Anderson and Roger Dale Anderson, both of Prentiss; 2 step-daughters, Peggy Sue Miles of Prentiss and Rebecca Anderson of New Hebron; 2 brothers, Stanley Horning of Franklinton, LA, Charles Horning of Lexington, KY; 2 sisters, Mary Hester of Hammond, LA, Lola Sniff of Chattanooga, TN and his grandson, James Cameron Miles of Prentiss.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Saulters Moore Funeral Home.
