He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas N. Hooks and Bessie Hilda Acord Hooks; and his siblings, Thomas Ray Hooks, Gary Wendell Hooks and Hilda Fay Powell.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Hooks; his sons, David Bradley Hooks (Rachel) and Patrick Wayne Hooks; his stepchildren, Jason Sibley and Nikki Smith; and his sisters, Barbara Hearn and Glenda Willoughby (Jim). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Bradley's Chapel United Methodist Church and the Methodist Children's Home.
