He was predeceased by: his children, Alma Rice Wheat and Stanley Wheat; his wife Vera Polk Wheat; his parents, Albert Wheat and Louella Wheat; and his close friend Newell Bush.
He is survived by: his son Ronnie Wheat (Carol) of Brandon, MS; and his daughter-in-law Cathy Wheat of Bogalusa, LA. He is also survived by five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren, with two additional great grandchildren.
