He is survived by: his children, Lee Allen Smith (late Karen Commarato) and Katherine Merritt (C. J.); and his grandchildren, Tim Smith (Masha), Caitlin Tuil (Kyle), Richard Smith (Brittnay), Marie Carpenter and Paula Merritt. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren; a host of extended family, friends.
