He is survived by: his wife Lora Ann Penton Kirkland; his son Bill Kirkland (Betty Jo); his grandchildren, Jessica Herndon, Will Kirkland, Brittany Herndon Johnson (Ethan), Megan Herndon Rayborn (Jon Mark) and Kaitlyn Kirkland; his great grandchild Paisley Rayborn; his son-in-law Jessie Herndon; and his sister Ruth Kirkland Harriel (Kat).
