She was predeceased by: her father Malvin Smith; her former husband James H. Simmons; and her husband James J. Brown. She is survived by: her children, James H. "Jim" Simmons, Jr. (Mally) of Boise, David Michael Simmons (Angie) of Eufaula, Cheryl Powers (Tom) of Williston and Donna S. Karasic (Ron) of Baltimore, Maryland; her sister Charlotte Robertson of Greenwood, MS; and her caregivers, Beth and Charles Dees. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
