She is survived by: her children, Amanda Smith (Andy) of Ecru and Mark Winter (Patsy) of Thaxton; and her grandchildren, Anthony Winter, Kriztina Stearns, Nikita Hollis, Manly Winter, John Winter and Harlie Smith. She is also survived by her 11 great-grandchildren.
Ms. Kay made the donation of her body to science in hopes of helping someone else through research.
