It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lola Wayne Murphree Allen of Pontotoc, Mississippi, who passed away on April 2, 2025, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Millard Murphree and Inez Murphree (McKinney) of Pittsboro, MS.; her brother Robert Ladean Murphree; her stepson-in-law Rev. Terrell Permenter; and her great grandchild Scarlett Jean Edwards.
She is survived by: her husband James Robert Allen of Pontotoc; her daughter Dawn Mathis Jeter; her son-in-law Rev. Clift Jeter of Tupelo; her grandchildren, Alana Rose Jeter and Alex Jeter (Ellen) of New Albany, MS; her siblings, Mary Katherine (Travis) of Byhalia, Barbara Ann Winter of Bruce, Betty Francis Crawford (Tom) of Hernando and Douglas Wade Murphree (Summer) of Pontotoc; and her stepchildren, Stephanie Edwards (Rusty) of Tupelo, MS, Susan Permenter of Pontotoc and Mark Allen (Sherry) of Ecru.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the West Pontotoc Pentecostal Church (266 MS-341, Pontotoc, MS 38863). A celebration of life was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
