He was predeceased by: his parents, Roosevelt Payton, Sr. and Lucille Boyd Payton; his mother-in-law Elnora Dixon; and his brothers-in-law, Rayburn Dixon, Joe Earl Dixon and Roosevelt "Sonny" Farr.
He is survived by: his wife Mildred Dixon Payton; and his siblings, Nylean Parks of Atlanta, GA, Roosevelt Payton, Jr. of New Albany, MS, Vera Farr of New Albany, MS, Dorothy Howell (John) of New Albany, MS, Debra Golden (Ricky) of Fayetteville, GA and Jennifer Kimmons (Leo) of New Albany, MS. He is also survived by other relatives, friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Payton Mortuary (262 E Oxford St, Pontotoc, MS 38863). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the New Albany Middle School (400 Apple St, New Albany, MS 38652).
