With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Johnny L. Jointer (Pontotoc, Mississippi), who passed away on February 21, 2025 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Peal Jointer and Alice Pearl Jointer; his wife Grace Jointer; and his brother Robert L. Jointer. He is survived by: his children, Frederick D. Jointer, Christopher J. Jointer and Priscilla Floyd of Wesson, MS; his stepson Vincent (Beverly); his cousin Emerson (Shirley); his sister Alice R. Jointer of Wesson, MS; his sisters-in-law, Laventia Rayford (Albert) of Houlka, MS and Delois Love of Houlka, MS; his grandchildren, Kendrick Brown (Jessica), Dontrel Brown, KaDazia Brown, Frederick Jointer, Jr., Jayden Jointer, Catherine Jointer, Shakita McGregory and Vincent Lamar; his cousins, Victoria, Jaylen Walker (Kimya) and Zackery; his great grandchildren, Carson Brown, Dantae T. Watson, Aiden L. Pratt, Paxton C. Ewing and Nova Watson; and his close friends, Joe Betts of Pontotoc, MS and Dr. Kelsey Reed of Tupelo, MS. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, relatives, friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Payton Mortuary (262 E Oxford St, Pontotoc, MS 38863). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Springhill Missionary Baptist Church (270 S Mullen Ave, Nettleton, MS 38858).
