It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Grace Evelyn Montgomery (Pontotoc, Mississippi), who passed away on December 30, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Leslie Lyon and Margaret Catherine Pitts Lyon; her husband Elton Lane Montgomery (Butch); and her siblings, Mary Rowland Lyon Bass, Maude Francis Lyon Knox, Robert Leslie Lyon II, Fred Carroll Lyon and Doyle Franklin Lyon.
She is survived by: her daughters, Carole Montgomery Russell (Greg) and Mary Catherine Montgomery Boyd (David); her grandchildren, Megan Russell Ford (Cim), Grace Anne Boyd, Sarah Russell Maxwell (Colby), Morgan Russell Mathis (Douglas), Allison Boyd Walker (Will) and David Boyd Jr.; and her great grandchildren, Parker Campbell Ford, Peyton Layne Ford and Raymond Douglas Mathis III.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Independent Presbyterian Church (4738 Walnut Grove Rd, Memphis, TN 38117). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
