He is survived by: his parents, Julian Cates of Pontotoc, MS and Barbara Cates; his son Brad Cates, Jr. (Brittney) of Tuscaloosa, AL; his sister Carrie Ann Cates of Pontotoc, MS; his granddaughters, Ariana Cates of Tuscaloosa, AL and Dakota McCammon of Tuscaloosa, AL; his nephew Zachary Stegall; his aunt Tammy Dillard; and his uncle Bobby Herndon. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins.
