She was predeceased by: her parents, Theo Nelson and Mary Uis Hanks Tedford; her husband Benjamin Franklin Merritt; her children, Nancy Neagle and Ben Merritt; and her siblings, Jane Tackitt, Brenda Tate, Barbara Parker, Bill Tedford and Michael Tedford.

She is survived by: her daughters, Patricia Parks, Linda Carver (Ricky) and Christi Huey (Michael); and her sister Diane Russell (Wells). She is also survived by ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
