She was predeceased by: her husband Rev. Robert David Alexander, Sr.; her son Robert David Alexander, Jr.; her brother Dr. Oliver Raymond Hunt, Jr.; and her parents, Annie Muldrow Hunt and Oliver Raymond Hunt, Sr..
She is survived by: her sisters, Elizabeth Hunt of Marion, NC and Susan Edwards of Jacksonville, FL; her daughters, Susanne A. Malatesta (Larry) and Catherine A. Kelly (Rocky); her grandchildren, Phillip Malatesta (Alison) of Birmingham, AL, Kimberly Silverman (Chris) of Raleigh, NC and Will Kelly (Morgan) of Brandon, MS; and her great grandchildren, Rebekah Malatesta, Avery Malatesta and Georgia Kelly. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of flowers, family requests that memorials be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children or to a charity of one's choosing.
