He is survived by: his wife Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Smyly; his children, Terry Smyly (Hope) of Madison, GA, Bernie Smyly (Marilyn) of Plantersville, MS and Jodie Whittington of Columbus, MS; his siblings, Shelly Quick of Clinton, MS, Dr. Dan S. Smyly (Gail) of Peachtree City, GA and Cherry Dyer of Cypress, TX.; and his grandchildren, Andrew Whittington of Kennesaw, GA, Ethan Smyly (Heather) of Tupelo, MS, Seth Smyly of Tupelo, MS, Jonathan Whittington and Elizabeth Grace Whittington of Columbus, MS..
Due to Covid precautions, a private graveside service was conducted at the Stoneville, MS cemetery on Sunday, October 18th at 3:00 p. m. under the direction of Boone Funeral Home.
