He was predeceased by: his children, Derwood Thompson and Beverly Thompson; and his former wives, Elizabeth "Liz" Thompson and Sue Weeks Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Jean Hendrick Thompson of Tupelo; his grandchild Shelby Moore of Blytheville; and his great grandchildren, Willow Beagles and Silas Beagles.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church-Plantersville (287 Old Planters Rd, Plantersville, MS 38862). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church- Plantersville (284 Old Planters Rd, Plantersville, MS 38862).
