He is survived by: his wife Betty Jo Mahan Byars; his children, Rhonda Byars Harrison of Pittsboro and Mitchell Wade Byars (Jennifer) of Carrollton; his siblings, Deborah Jo Burt (Wade) of Houlka, Raleigh Hill Byars, Robert Eastland Byars and Ricky Paul Byars (Cheryl); and his grandchildren, Mitchell Klint Byars, Chelsea Dayan Anderson, Ryan Craig Killough, Torie Terry Costilow and Tabitha Alyse Byars.
