He was predeceased by: his parents, Katie Mae Smith (Kitchens) and Reese Smith, Sr.; his sons, Otis Earl Smith, Lee Kenneth Jackson and Daryl Jackson; and his siblings, Elnora Price-Gibson, Retha Mae Williams, Mary Lou Gardner, Reese Smith, Jr., Alfred Smith and Edmond Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Rella Mae Smith; his children, Mable Whitlock (Charlie), Martha Rogers, Katie Dampier (Milton), Carolyn Ann Jackson (Edward K.), Mothanez, Sylvia Diane Feazell (Jimmy), Sheila McGee (Michael), Edward Smith (Phyllis), Melvin Danny Otis Smith and Meko Jackson; and his sister Vernell Edwards (Roy).
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the J & M Funeral Home (732 Dixie Ave, Mendenhall, MS 39114). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mendenhall Bible Church (309 Center St, Mendenhall, MS 39114).
