Effie Jewel Magee Obituary
We are sad to announce that on December 25, 2024, at the age of 87, Effie Jewel Magee of Pinola, Mississippi passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Steve Newsome and Annie Lee Newsome. She is survived by: her daughters, Bonnie Rose Newsome, Glenda Draughn (Nimrod), Linda Faye Magee and Nellie J. Magee; her grandchildren, Latoya, Keaton, Raphael, Demi, Nimrod, Jr., Ieshia, Justin and Ryan; her siblings, Earlene Weathersby of Chicago, Minnie V. Hendrix of New Orleans and Roosevelt Newsome (Umetrice) of Jackson, Mississippi; and her sister-in-law Mae Mertice Gardner of Detroit, Michigan. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church (215 W 5th St, D'Lo, MS 39062). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at the Greater Dry Ridge Missionary Baptist Church (110 Mt Zion Rd, Mendenhall, MS 39114).
