He was predeceased by: his wife Sherry Lumpkin Carter; his parents, Zeno Carterr and Flora Miller Carter; his son Robert C. Carter, Jr.; and his siblings, Joe Carter, Eunice Carter and Mildred Dillard.
He is survived by: his daughters, Angela Deboxtel (Henry) of Picayune, Belinda Mitchell (Thomas) of Picayune and Sandra Sartalamacchia (Ronnie) of Bay St; his siblings, Zeno "Webb" Carter (Patricia), Helen Hughes and Janice Sylvest (Larry); and his grandchildren, Robert Carter III (Tonya), Nikki Pell (Paul), John R. Carter (Chandra), Ashley Barnes (Terrence), Brandi Casey (Jennie), Rusty Carter (Jenny), Michael Lang (Desiree) and Hannah Cliff (Joey). He is also survived by twenty great grandchildren; one great great-grandchild.
