She was predeceased by: her father Maurice Lafayette Smith Sr.; her sons, Timothy Paul Smith and Elton Deon Ekornes; her granddaughter Laken Skye Pearson; her brothers, Cecil Forrest Smith, Otis Smith, Steve S. Smith and John Edward Smith; and her uncles, D. L. Dillard and Alvin Dillard.
She is survived by: her mother Vonnie Marie Dillard Smith; her fiancé Buck Borchert; her children, Tanya Hobgood Pate (William), Pete Hobgood (Rebecca) and Jason Hobgood (Lindsey); her grandchildren, Timothy Garrett Rasco, Victoria Hobgood, Gabriel Hobgood, Abigail Hobgood, Bryson Hobgood, MaKayla Hobgood, Dawson Hobgood, Sarah Balnis, Alexis Hobgood, Jason Hobgood, Baylee Hobgood and Kohen Hobgood; her great grandchildren, Stephen Paul Vargo Jr., River Marie Vargo, Ellie Kaye Vargo and Alax Carter Vargo; and her brother Maurice Lafayette Smith Jr. (James Michael Smith). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
