She was predeceased by: her husband John Childress; her parents, Basil L. Byrne and Orrie Smith of Virginia; her son Paul Marshall; and her brother Donald Byrne.
She is survived by: her sons, Norman Ford III (Sharon Tackett), Robert Ford (Katheleen) and Charles Marshall; and her sisters, Nancy Dukett and Sarah Allgood. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
