He was predeceased by: his parents, John R. Campbell, Sr. and Mittie Lee Campbell; his sisters, Loraine Law, Ruby Villamarette and Mary Rose Turnage; and his grandson Jody McQueen.

He is survived by: his children, John Calvin Campbell, Alicia McQueen (Billy) and Loretta Campbell. He is also survived by six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
