With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Janet Sharon Porter Reed Gardner (Picayune, Mississippi), born in Baltimore, Maryland, who passed away on September 9, 2023 at the age of 67. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Eunice Denton Porter and William Samuel Porter; and her siblings, Alvin Porter, Jack Porter, Vanessa Hinkley and Janice Blevins.

She is survived by: her children, Joseph Reed and Janet Reed Francis; her grandchildren, Misty Porter, Sabrina Wingo, Noel Wingo and John Altice (Bubba); her sisters, Navata Brink and Annie Grim (Frederick Gardner); her former husband John Reed; and her cousin Linda Denton Sturmer. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
