He was predeceased by: his parents, Barney Kennedy and Nettie Kennedy; and his siblings, Lavie Kennedy and Madalou Smith. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Kennedy of Picayune, Mississippi; his children, Donnie Kennedy (Jennie) of Picayune, Tommy Kennedy of Tennessee, James Kennedy, Jr. (Desiree) of Carriere, Robert Bales (Charlotte) of Picayune, Perry Bales of Slidell, Mark Bales (Lianne) of Carriere, Dewayne Kennedy (Melissa) of Necaise, Mississippi, Marsha Crocker (Art) of Picayune, Deborah Kennedy of Leetown and Melanie Beard (Brad) of Texas; and his siblings, Terry Kennedy (Rosaphine) of McNeill, Elvin Ray Kennedy of Tennessee, Evelyn Smith of Carriere, Barbara Grader of Poplarville and Mavis Glidewell of McNeill, Mississippi. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
