He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Edward Whitfield and Della Lee Sherfield Foster; his daughter Diana "Dee Dee" Barnes; and his sister Peggy Owens. He is survived by: his close friend Merle Meek; his children, Kimberly "Kim" Whitfield, Jackie Whitfield, II (Lynn) and Eddie Whitfield (Kristen); his grandchildren, Amanda, Joshua, Blake, Whitley, Kyle, Amy and Kelsey; his great grandchildren, Zander, Aleigha, Grayson, Carson, Claire, Caroline, Westin, Levi, Elliott, Hattie and Van; and his nieces and nephews, Dale, Ronnie, Lynne and Cindi.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 27th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home (401 W Canal St, Picayune, MS 39466). A funeral service was held on Sunday, October 27th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home Chapel (401 W Canal St, Picayune, MS 39466). A graveside service was held on Sunday, October 27th 2024 at the Turtleskin Cemetery.
