He was predeceased by: his parents, John "Jack" Edward Waters III and Jane Ross Waters; and his brothers, Brenner S. E. Waters (Margaret "Peggy") and Russell C. Boe. He is survived by: his children, John Edward Waters IV (Laura), Theresa Rebecca Jones (Dared) and Mary Catharine Williams (Casey); his grandchildren, Ayla Williams, Olivia Jones, Taylor Jones, Chandler Williams, Caleb Jones, Caden Williams, Noah Jones and Daniel Bear Williams; and his brother Michael J. E. Waters (Janna).
