He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Howard Slaven and Lena Dawsey Slaven; his sons, Richie Slaven and Chris Slaven; and his brother Roger Dale Slaven (Jane).
He is survived by: his children, Christopher Michael Slaven Jr. and Tammy Townsend; his grandchildren, Jacob Lumpkin, Devin Townsend and Ashlyn Brooke Long; his sister Iva Nell Furr (Wayne); and his friend Jane Brown.
