He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Ashley and Vivian Grisham Ashley; his wife Joyce Sheafer Ashley; his son Charles Ashley, Jr.; and his siblings, Edward Ashley, Mary Folsom and Suzie Ashley Stanier.
He is survived by: his children, Larry Ashley, Rhonda Ashley and Karie Rehm; and his siblings, Larry Ashley, Ramona McCullah, Thelma Quhart, Frances Merrimen and Sharlyn Smith. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
