She was predeceased by: her sisters, Virginia Wiggins of Texas and Rosie Smith (Tommy) of Texas; her parents, Presley Grover and Alma Lula Burnside; and her siblings, Charles Burnside, Robert Burnside, George "Bud" Burnside, L. Frank Burnside, James Burnside, Lucy Obera Ogden, Jane McCluskey, Bessie Federick and Trudy Williamson.
She is survived by: her husband Jimmy Vowell of Philadelphia; her children, Rev. Tim Vowell (Lyn) of Philadelphia and Starla Tolbert (William) of Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Elauran Barrett (Tanner), Makaila Howell (Christian), Malcolm Castle (Britney) and Elijah McNeer; and her great grandchildren, Sophia Howell, McKinlee Howell, Nova Howell, Weston Castle and Olivia Castle. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
