He is survived by: his wife Tammy Alford; his children, Patricia Alford Russell (James Jr.), James W. Alford (Becky), Patrick D. Alford (Amy), Wade Rushing (Missy) and Robert E. Alford II (Brittany); and his siblings, Clara Sullivan, Threase Martin, Edna Simpson, Patsy Brown and Dale Alford. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.
