He was predeceased by: his mother Bonnie Boatner. He is survived by: his wife Angela Boatner of Philadelphia; his children, Jessie Palmer (Shaun) of Louisville and Jake Boatner (Brianna) of Philadelphia; his grandchildren, Lucy Palmer, Lucas Boatner and Colton Boatner; his father Rev. Lavon Boatner of Philadelphia; and his brother Scotty Boatner (Kari) of Philadelphia. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
