He was predeceased by: his wife Jean; his son Bill Yates; his parents, Earl Yates and Jessie Mae Yates; his brother Earl Clyde Yates, Jr.; and his daughter-in-law Debbie H. Yates.
He is survived by: his children, Laura Yates Lamb (Brian) of Brandon, MS, Stan Yates (Debra) of Philadelphia, MS and Chris Yates (Jan) of Birmingham, AL; and his sister Ouida Moore (Ed) of Chattanooga, TN. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; and numerous great-grand- children and great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials be made to childcare ministries, First Baptist Church of Philadelphia, or your favorite charity.
