With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Charles Files (Philadelphia, Mississippi), who passed away on March 9, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Pauline Files; his daughter Reba Fay Files; his granddaughter Christie Thomas; his parents, Oliver Files and Ethel Taylor Files; and his siblings, Ollie Sue Easterwood, Oliver Files Jr., Leon Files and James Files.
He is survived by: his children, Pam Burnham (Junior) of Louisville, Kaye Neese (Donnie) of Philadelphia, Billy Charles Files of Noxapater and Ray Files (Tonya) of Stonewall; his sisters, Joyce Williamson of Philadelphia and Barbara Sullivan (Paul B.) of Philadelphia; his sister-in-law Aline Jolly (Oliver); and his close friend Barbara Hare of Louisville. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the McClain-Hays Chapel (1002 E Main St, Philadelphia, MS 39350).
