He was predeceased by: his parents, Lace Alford and Myrtle Alford. He is survived by: his wife Marie Alexander of Kemper County, MS; his daughters, Tawanna Tatum (Larry) of Madison and Sherry Milner (Jeff) of Madison; his grandchildren, Anson Lewis, Matthew Tatum and Ali Milner; and his great grandchild London Tatum.
In lieu of flowers the family requests all memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association Mississippi Chapter.
