He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald McElvany and Nancy McElvany; and his brothers, Michael, Johnny and Allen McElvany.

He is survived by: his son Aaron McElvany of Houston, TX; his grandson Jayden McElvany; and his brothers, William McElvany of Philadelphia, MS and Curtis McElvany of Clute, TX. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
