He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Columbus Sharp and Amanda Bates Sharp; his son John Stuart Sharpe; and his siblings, Jim, Kurt, Claude, Sadie, Lonnie, Lovie and Velma.

He is survived by: his wife Wanda Sharpe (Stuart); and his children, Art Sharpe and Judy Sharpe Luke. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
