It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward Coloyan Cortez (Pheba, Mississippi), born in Long Beach, California, who passed away on August 4, 2021, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gregorio Cortez and Helaria Coloyan; and his siblings, Lourdes Monzon, Natividad Pilapil and Frank Abella.
He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Cortez of Mantee; his daughter Kari Lawrence of Carthage, MS; his great-niece Summer Roberson; his great-nephew Dennis Roberson; his niece Courtney Jackson; his sister-in-law Debbie Jackson; and his brothers, Tony Abella and Lawrence Abella. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
