We are sad to announce that on January 13, 2025, at the age of 95, Shelby Leon Tims of Petal, Mississippi passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Shelby Leon may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his wife Frances Hatten Tims; and his grandson Austin Louis White. He is survived by: his brother Robert Tims of Petal; and his children, David Tims (Carol) of Larned, KS, Tony Tims (Vickie) of Graford, TX, Marsha Tims of Petal and Stacy Tims White of Azle, TX. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Carterville Baptist Church (1115 Carterville Rd, Petal, MS 39465). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
