He was predeceased by: his wife Patsy Byrne; his parents, Leroy Smith and Gertrude Smith of Wiggins; his sisters, Joyce Burge (Grady) of Poplarville and Lois Burge (Reece) of Wiggins; and his daughter Robin Lee (Blaine).
He is survived by: his daughters, Pamela Thursby (Richard) of Petal and Joanna Lucus (Dale) of Sumrall; his grandson Casey Lee; his great grandchildren, Maddox and Evan Lee of Navarre, FL.; and his sister Sue Thatcher of Fruitland Park, MS.. He is also survived by brother to his sisters and brothers-in-law and a deeply beloved uncle to his numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home (205 Bay St, Hattiesburg, MS 39401). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
