He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel A. Hogan and Dolly B. Simmons Hogan; and his grandson Jon Moody. He is survived by: his wife Dona Ruth Hogan of Petal; his children, Michael Leland Hogan (Debbie) of Petal, Stephen "Spike" Ellis Hogan (Kitty) of Jacksonville, FL and Chandra Sullivan (Jerry) of Petal; and his grandchildren, Josh Hogan (Lauren), Jenalee Coleman (Chase), Lindsay Wilson (Mike), Lauren Morgan (Lance), Kyle Sullivan (Cassi) and Tanner Sullivan. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Leland Hogan Scholarship Fund at William Carey University.
