She was predeceased by: her father Thomas Ivey Hughes; her son James Joseph "JJ" Courtney; and her grandparents, Joseph Durward Lewis and Helen Bufkin Lewis. She is survived by: her mother Patricia Nell Lewis Hughes; her siblings, Thomas Durward "Dud" Hughes (Sally), Karen Hughes Spencer (Sonny) and Tucker Hughes Mikell; her son Heath Turner Courtney (Shelley); her grandchildren, Josey Lislyn Courtney Cavanaugh (John), Kelley Michelle Courtney and Cole Courtney; and her great grandchildren, Jaxtyn and June. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
