He was predeceased by: his parents, William Parsons and Irene Parsons; his former wife Helen Pailette Parsons; his wife Nell Becker Parsons; his daughters, Starla Parsons and Hope Parsons; and his siblings, Jack Parsons, Thomas Parsons, Ed Parsons, Sally Keene, Ruth McDonald and Marie O'Quinn.
He is survived by: his children, Angela Parsons Pickett of Petal, John Henry Parsons, Jr. of Petal and Joe Parsons (Gill) of Scarsdale, NY; and his siblings, Albert Parsons of Wesson, Wayne Parsons of Wiggins, Mary Hamilton of Beauregard, Ann Walker of Beauregard and Elaine Aldridge of Natchez. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren.
