He is survived by: his wife Redenia Motes of Petal; his children, Becky Downing (Justin) of Ovett, Deedie Motes Watts of Petal, Kim O'Steen (Shawn) of Wiggins and John Donald "Jody" Motes, Jr. (Becky) of Pelham, AL; his stepchildren, Ronald Napper (Libby) of Chattanooga, TN, Edward Napper, Jr. (Sarah) of Auburn, AL, Michael Napper (Christy) of Petal, Angelina Carraway (Larry) of Petal and Joseph Napper of Petal; and his sister Paulette Guthrie. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
