He was predeceased by: his parents, F. T. Newton and Ethel Newton; and his brothers, Jon Newton and Phillip Newton. He is survived by: his wife Judy Newton of Petal; his sons, Ronnie Newton (Sylvia) of Madison and Don Newton (Tina); his stepson Daniel Mott of Hattiesburg; his daughters, Marty Carrell (Dow) of Mobile, Amanda Newton of Petal and Angela Newton; his stepdaughter Honey Mott of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and his grandchildren, Josh, Tyler Newton (Holly), Emily Walker (Cody), Hannah Owens (Chandler), Harrison Carrell, Holden Carrell, Talyn Newton and Remy Stewart. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
